Carine Roifeld from French Vogue is chatting with Katharina Kowalewski in New York after the Marc by Marc Jacobs Show about Rodarte, Thom Browne and model castings.

Hi, can you tell us what you saw today? What I saw today, I’ve started with Rodarte this morning. It was a really great show. I think these two girls now get to a great level. We know them since the beginning, so it’s good to follow people and to see them when they now arrived and after it was Mendal. It was “French Touch” here in New York which is very good and here Marc by Marc. It was great because we are always looking for new girls, it was all the new girls of New York were on the runway, so it was a good idea for casting, very fresh and goes very well with these clothes. And I think it is good to separate more Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc – even for the casting.

And for you what is the difference between Marc and Marc by Marc Jacobs?

Marc Jacobs is for me and Marc by Marc is for my daughter. That’s it I think. '' Which trends do you see coming up form New York for Fall 2008?''

I don’t think there was really a trend. (..)I don’t feel such a strong trend already.

What was your favourite show so far?

A men show called Thom Browne. I think it was fun. It was burlesque. It was my favorite show so far.

What’s the difference between Fashion Week in Paris and New York? In Paris I have got all my clothes; it is easy to dress in the morning. Here you never know what is going to be the weather.
